Cache
related problems
If you are having problems with this web site, please clear your cache
and try again before contacting us. The most common problem that people
have is that they have some old information stored on their computer in
a cache. When someone accesses a website, the computer looks in the cache,
and compares that to what's on the Internet. If you have been to the same
site before, and the computer doesn't notice any difference, it will simply
use what is already on the computer instead of downloading it again. This
works pretty well most of the time, speeding up access to web pages since
computers can access what's on their hard drive much faster then downloading
off the web. Problems occur when the computer doesn't notice that there
is an updated file online, and tries to just use the one on its hard drive.
To fix this
problem;
If using Internet
Explorer 6.0, click on Tools, then Internet options.
Under the General tab, in the Temporary Internet files box,
click the Delete Files button. A prompt will come up, select Delete
all offline content, then click OK. This may take a few minutes,
if you have never done this before and use the Internet a lot.
If using Netscape
7, click on Edit, then Preferences. Under the Category
column, click on Advanced, then Cache. Then click on both
Clear Memory Cache and Clear Disk Cache. If you want to
avoid this, and you do not have a problem with Internet speeds, you can
select Once Per Session. This should not significantly lengthen
download times, and should prevent most cache related problems with Netscape.
Setting
CCFPD.net as your home page
If using Internet Explorer 6.0, click on Tools,
then Internet options. Under the General tab, in the Home
page box, type in after Address: www.ccfpd.net, then click
OK.
If using Netscape
7, click on Edit, then Preferences. Under the Category
column, click on Navigator. In the Home Page box, type in
after Location: www.ccfpd.net, then click OK.
Unable to
E-mail using links
The
E-mail addresses on this site have been broken up with a script code so
as to avoid detection from spam search bots. These bots are designed to
search through all of the content of every website it comes across looking
for the username@domain.net/com/etc. In order to avoid that detection,
script language has been used that breaks up the address into three parts.
These parts are then assembled when you click on the link, activating
the script. Some browsers will not properly assemble the address. Please
first make sure that your browser is not set to block scripts. If you
are still having any problems seeing or using the E-mail links, please
call, write, or fax the office and give your e-mail address and at least
one other way to contact you. (If you call, please spell out any part
of an address that is non-standard spelling.)
Other problems
Above
are listed the most common problems and their fixes. If you have problems
not listed herein, please contact us, and we will e-mail you with a fix
if we can. If the problem is user side only or not able to be fixed server
side, the fix will be added to this page for further reference.
